Panicube

This CAD model was designed by Oskar van Deventer, copyright (c), 5 September 2026

Panicube is base on an idea by George Miller, who lives in Panicale, Italy. The idea is that when cubes are bolted together, they can rotate, but they also bother the roatation of neighboring cubes. George originally preferred a linear snake design. We went to a tentacle design, as that enable the introduction of two coordinated motions, which makes the solving process even more challenging. One starts by folding the shape flat, such that it fits in an 8x4 grid. The goal is to fold a 3x3x3 cube, without any forced moves that flexes the puzzle.
