Sixteen-piece Jigsaw

This CAD model was designed by Oskar van Deventer, copyright (c), 2 July 2024.

Sixteen-piece Jigsaw is a variation of the classic four-piece jigsaw, invented by Keith Winegar (https://www.puzzlemaster.ca/browse/inventors/keithwinegar/12253-pinned-wl), and in parallel by Ken Walker (https://webapp1.dlib.indiana.edu/images/item.htm?id=http://purl.dlib.indiana.edu/iudl/lilly/slocum/LL-SLO-023092). The original four-piece design requires a pivot motion to come apart. The new sixteen-piece version repeats the same pattern at all intersections of four pieces, breaking the pattern at one place. That is the clue for taking apart, where the whole jigsaw pivots into two eight-piece halves. Assembly is a bit harder, as the pieces have different shapes.
