Ternary Key

This CAD model was designed by Oskar van Deventer, copyright (c), 2 July 2024.

Ternary Key is a ternary puzzle. Each key can be in three states, and the number of states and moves-to-solve increase by a factor three for each key added. This version has six keys, and hence it takes 3^6=729 moves to solve. One could consider the puzzle trivial, as from each state one can only go forward or backward. However, "one can get lost in a Belgian maze". At some points, the solver may get confused and start moving backward. This feature makes the puzzle an actual puzzle.
