Typhoon

This CAD model was designed by Oskar van Deventer, copyright (c), 27 August 2002, 3 October 2024.

Typhoon is a shape variation of my four-piece "Lucky Clover" puzzle, published by Bits & Pieces early this century. The object of the puzzle is to separate the four pieces. The challenge is that this cannot be done one link at a time. If, after two moves, two links are separate, then no further disassembly moves are possible.

The puzzle requires eight little cylinder magnets of 3-mm diameter and 2-mm thick (e.g. https://www.supermagnete.nl/eng/disc-magnets-neodymium/disc-magnet-3mm-2mm_S-03-02-N). The puzzle also requires four cut-off bolts of 3-mm diameter and 10-mm length to hold the pieces together with glue. I typically use Bison Kombi transparent two-component epoxy glue, as it creeps and shape locks well.
